Conejo en la Luna Collection
The Conejo en la Luna Collection is inspired by the Nahuatl legend of the rabbit in the moon, a pre-Hispanic tale that speaks of the creation of our world by the gods, of humility, and of the eternal imprint of the small rabbit that forever earned a place in the sky. Told by the Mexicas since the times they departed from Aztlán, this story tells us about the gesture that forever transformed the way we see the sky.
‘One day, Quetzalcoatl descended to earth as a man to contemplate his creation. He walked through fields and mountains until exhaustion and hunger overcame him under the silvery light of the night. Then, a small rabbit approached and, seeing him weak, offered him food and, finally, his own life to save him.
Moved by such kindness, the god did not sacrifice him but lifted him toward the sky so he could see the stars, and during that journey, he imprinted his figure forever on the moon. Since then, when the full moon shines, the rabbit's silhouette can be seen, reminding us that true greatness lies in generosity.’
